MIXKIND / 02

Volume & weight

Convert volume to mass, or mass to volume, using the density you enter from the matching product data.

MIXKIND / WORKSPACE

Your project, in numbers

Enter the density for the material state you are measuring, in g/mL. A component density is not automatically the mixed-product density.

Use the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact product. This calculator does not recommend a formulation, cure schedule, pouring depth or chemical handling procedure.

Live estimate

Enter the required product data to see a result.

Check your inputsEvery required field must contain a finite decimal number. Blank fields are not zero.

Use the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact product. This calculator does not recommend a formulation, cure schedule, pouring depth or chemical handling procedure.

MIXKIND / THE METHOD

How to use this tool

Mass in g = volume in mL × density in g/mL. Volume in mL = mass in g ÷ density in g/mL.

Worked example
For an arithmetic example only, 500 mL at an entered density of 1.1 g/mL has a mass of 550 g. Conversely, 550 g at that density occupies 500 mL.

01

Step 1

Choose whether your known amount is a volume or a mass and select its unit.

02

Step 2

Read the density for the exact component or mixed product you are measuring. Enter it in g/mL.

03

Step 3

Review both mass and volume. The tool does not infer a density or an A:B ratio.

A few things to check first

Read the calculation method ↗
Can I use a single standard resin density?

No. Enter the density for your product and material state. Component A, component B and the mixed product can have different densities.

Is the result a cured casting weight?

It is the conversion implied by the entered density. The tool does not model curing, shrinkage, evaporation, inclusions or process losses.
